About Shari Sakurai:
Shari Sakurai is a British author of paranormal, horror, science fiction and fantasy novels that almost always feature a LGBT protagonist and/or antagonist. She has always loved to write and it is her escape from the sometimes stressful modern life!
Aside from writing, Shari enjoys reading, watching movies, listening to (loud!) music, going to rock concerts and learning more about other societies and cultures. Japanese culture is of particular interest to her and she often incorporates Japanese themes and influences into her work.
Shari loves a challenge and has taken part and won the National Novel Writing Month challenge for the past ten years!
Arvenig: We share a lot of interests aside from writing!

About the book Adam:
A companion novel to the Perfect World series
Adam Larimore is on a mission of self-destruct. After learning that he was genetically engineered for the sole purpose of inheriting his father’s empire, Adam has been determined to ruin his father’s life and in the process his own. When Ivan Williams, the man soon to become the Head of the London Security Agency (L.S.A), approaches Adam with the offer of a business partnership, Adam discovers the appalling truth behind the technological and genetic advancements that have come to shape England. His relationship with his father is at breaking point and when events take a devastating turn, Adam finds himself pushed further than perhaps he wanted to go.
Arvenig: Tell us a little about yourself and your background!
Shari: I currently live in Barnham, which is a village in West Sussex, England, with my sister and three cats.
When I’m not writing I enjoy going to live music concerts, going to the cinema, visiting museums and spending time with family and friends. I’m very interested in other countries cultures and mythology; in particular Japan. Japanese themes and influences can often be found in my work.
A.: When did you first realise you wanted to be a writer?
S.: I first started writing when I was six years old. Our class wrote a story together about the teacher’s pet rat and I found that I enjoyed writing so much that I wanted to continue. I love the escapism, creating new characters and telling their stories. Writing is my first love really.
A.: Is there a message in your book that you want readers to grasp?
S.: There’s a couple of messages throughout the Perfect World series.
One is the warning of what could happen in the future if we don’t do something to prevent further damage to our environment.
In the Perfect World universe there are no restrictions on genetic engineering in humans and there are no natural conceptions allowed. The series addresses the morality of such engineering through the main antagonist, Adam Larimore. The novel Adam explores this further and in more detail as Adam often feels isolated from his family because of how different he is.
A.: What are you working on at the moment?
S.: I’m currently working on the sequel my vampire novel Demon’s Blood and also Book Two in the Perfect World series.
Thanks to her I’m able to give a giving away an ebook copy of Adam!
